The "I Have No Clothes" Phenomenon

So is it laziness or do you really have no clothes? Chances are, if you're like me you have an excess of clothes and putting effort into wardrobe combinations is not always at the top of your to do list (even if you're a fashion blogger.) So what happens when you have to get dressed up? Suddenly you "have no clothes" but it's not clothing you've run out of, it's ideas. These ideas don't just come from a lack of creativity; they could be due to the fact that you're on a budget. And although money may not buy style, it can make it easier.

We are all so easily convinced that if someone sees us in the same outfit twice that the world will end. To have a completely different outfit every day of the year? Do you know how much clothing that takes? Eventually even all those clothes will not be enough. You have to buy more; more shoes, more handbags, more dresses, more jeans, more, more, more, just to keep up. Simultaneously we are told that our bodies aren't good enough, coincidence? I don't think so. It makes sense that if we don't feel comfortable in our own skin we certainly don't feel comfortable in our own clothes. We're constantly being sold something from an image all the way to the products behind it. No wonder that in 2017 we are feeling the pressure more than ever to conform to celebrity-inspired ideals in beauty, fashion, and lifestyle. It can put a damper on the whole "ballin' on a budget" thing and discourage even the most creative.

Don't let all this get you down though because I bet you that you could still walk up to that overstuffed closet of yours and make a killer outfit...if you wanted to.
